Founded in 2010 by experienced pilgrims Sylvia Nilsen and Pam Stern, amaWalkers Camino offers the perfect middle ground between solo adventures and high-end guided tours.
Our accompanied walks are designed for pilgrims who want authentic experiences without the stress of managing every detail themselves. Our walks are not DIY - they are carefully planned and curated to give you the best possible Camino with a caring group leader who accompanys the group, taking care of all the logisitics so that all you have to do is walk and enjoy the experience of a lifetime! |
Our Group leaders have one thing in common - they have all walked the pilgrimage trails numerous times and have a desire to share their love of the Camino and Via Francigena with 'wanna-be' pilgrims! Most of our Group Leaders have served as voluntary hospitaleros in Spain and Portugal, caring for pilgrims. Because we want you to have the best possible experience we emphasise the need for you to walk your pilgrimage your way, at your own pace, no racing to keep up with fast walkers or dragging your heels to keep pace with slower walkers.
The group leaders will always be there to accompany you if you need them but you'll be free to walk with group members or alone. However, don't be surprised if your groups bonds during the walk! You will all be sharing the same challenges, the same beauty and the same spiritual experiences. You can read about them here. |
